Since, ceilings do more than provide shelter as they can enhance the overall design and decor of a room and so by using decorative and good quality ceilings that best suits your interior will drastically enhance the overall design and structure of your home.
Pendant Lights: A pendant light is a smaller fixture suspended from the ceiling by a cord, chain or metal rod. Pendant lights traditionally include only one lightbulb, so they don’t cover as much ground; several are often used to cover more space. There are many styles of these lights, including drum pendants and globe pendants, making it easy to find one that will fit your decor. They work well when you’re trying to showcase a smaller, specific area, such as a kitchen island or a dining room table.
You’ll want to consider your décor and the overall style of your home and go from there. Try to choose similar or complementary colors, or go big and bold with a pendant light that provides an interesting contrast to the room. Large, single pendant lights can make a statement, but don’t overlook smaller options as these can be just as bold when grouped together. If you do decide to go with a set of hanging lights, remember the “Rule of Three”, which will help you maintain a rhythmic balance. Whatever you do, make sure your pendant lighting doesn’t create a visual barrier in the room.
Chandeliers are also known as suspension or chain-hung fixtures. Like ceiling fixtures, chandeliers are also hung from the ceiling. However, they require more space in addition to adding more pizzazz compared to regular ceiling fixtures. They provide general lighting and have at least two arms with down-lights or up-lights. They are most often used with formal dining rooms or dining tables.
